Community Events

Paducah’s Dogwood Trail Bicycle Ride will be held Sunday, April 19, from 2:30 until 5:00. The entire route is eleven miles and participants may ride as much or as little of the Dogwood Trail as desired. A potluck will be held at BikeWorld following the ride. The Hugs Projects of Western Kentucky is seeking volunteers to assist with packing and sending care packages to troops serving around the world. Educational Events

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training will be offered Tuesday, May 5, from 8:00 until 5:00 at McCracken County Public Library in Paducah. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training course that teaches adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to adolescents who may be developing a mental health or substance use issue and help connect them to the appropriate care. The course will be presented by the Four Rivers Regional Prevention Center. Lunch will be provided. The training is free but space is limited. Fundraisers

The Mercy Health Paducah Iron Mom Half Marathon, Relay, and 5k will be held Saturday, May 9, from 7:00 until 11:00. Proceeds benefit the Family Service Society, a local organization that helps provide food, clothing, medication, utility assistance, and more to area residents in need. Team Elite’s 7th Annual Pick a Kid Fundraiser will be held Saturday, May 30, from 8:00 until 11:00, at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville. Proceeds from this softball tournament will benefit Braelynn Reeves, who was born October 2 with Spina Bifida and other conditions.
