The American Red Cross is facing a critical blood shortage and is issuing an urgent appeal for eligible blood and platelet donors. For eligibility requirements, to find a blood drive near you, and for other information, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit www.redcrossblood.org. Upcoming blood and platelet donation opportunities include:
- Monday, July 24, from 12:30 until 5:30 at First Baptist Church in Kuttawa, located at 316 Walnut Drive
- Tuesday, July 25, from 11:00 to 5:00 at American Legion in Mayfield, at 211 South Seventh Street
- Tuesday, July 25, from noon until 4:00 McCracken County Public Library on Washington Street.

The “Rise Out Of The Dark” Tour featuring Danny Gokey and Mandisa with special guests Love And The Outcome and Jasmine Murray will be visiting Heartland Worship Center in Paducah Thursday, November 9. Doors open at 6:00 and the concert begins at 7:00. Family Service Society is hosting a Vertical Dodgeball Tournament at Vertical Jump Park, located at 5101 Old Hinkleville Road in Paducah.
