Concerts

Revival, Homecoming, and Other Services

Briensburg United Methodist Church near Benton is holding a homecoming and family dedication service Sunday, August 19. Rob Martin will be the guest speaker.

Aurora Baptist Church is hosting a homecoming service Sunday, August 19, at 11:00. Revival services will also be held the 19th through Wednesday, August 22 at 7:00 each evening. Barry Hungerford will be the guest speaker.

Community Events

The Friday Night Lights Program in Marshall County will be hosting a tailgate night Friday, August 17, at Marshall County High School. The tailgate starts before the football game and kicks off their friday night program. They invite everyone to come out and enjoy free food, fun, and fellowship.

Paducah-McCracken County Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications through August 31 from low-income families interested in applying for a three bedroom home to be built at 2114 Jackson Street in Paducah. Prospective homeowners must show a need for adequate housing, agree to partner with Habitat for Humanity, and be able to pay an interest free mortgage. Marshall County’s Family Day at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville will be held Saturday, September 8, from 11:00 until 2:00. Events for the day will include inflatables, free food, a petting zoo, an animal adoption drive, and an opportunity to meet local first responders. For more information, call 270-527-1496.

Educational Events

Twelve Oaks Baptist Church is hosting a parenting conference Friday, August 17, from 6:00 until 8:00 and Saturday, August 18,  from 9:30 until 3:00. Roger Palmer will be the guest speaker. Impact Church, located at 337 Flat Road in Benton, will be hosting a free evangelism training session Sunday, August 26, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The seminar is titled “3-Circles”, and presents a simple, down-to-earth way for every-day Christians to share their faith in a non-confrontational, low-stress, natural way using everyday conversations with friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

Fundraisers

Life House Care Center in Murray invites you to join them for their 35th annual banquet on Thursday, August 30 at the Curris Center Ballroom on the campus of Murray State University. Marshall County Elks Lodge #2707 will be hosting the 32nd Annual Golf Benefit for the Marshall County Exceptional Center on Saturday, September 15, at Benton Golf and Country Club. The entry fee is $75 per player and includes the green fee, refreshments on the course, and dinner that evening.
