The eXtreme Tour will be visiting Murray Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24. Sunday’s events will include concerts and fun contests for the audience from 5:30 until 8:00 at Murray Central Park’s amphitheater. The eXtreme Tour aims to bring a positive message to at-risk and counter-culture teens and young adults in the community. Volunteers remain needed for security and setup and teardown. Steven Curtis Chapman will be in concert Sunday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m., at the Clemens Fine Arts Center on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College. The “Rise Out Of The Dark” Tour featuring Danny Gokey and Mandisa with special guests Love And The Outcome and Jasmine Murray will be visiting Heartland Worship Center in Paducah Thursday, November 9. Community Events

St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, at 122 Spruce Street in Murray, is holding a women’s conference Saturday, September 30, from 10:00 until 4:00. Music will be led by The New Creation Choir and guest speakers will include Vickie Naney, Sheila Scott, Toni Jones, and Ruthie Cantrell. Belew’s Dairy Bar, at 150 Union Ridge Road in Aurora, will be hosting a youth rally night Saturday, September 30, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. There will be live music, games, prizes, and free Belew’s burgers and fries. The Benton branch of Marshall County Public Library is hosting a presentation on how to create effective newsletters, handouts, church bulletins, and other promotional materials on Tuesday, September 26, from 3:00 until 4:30. New Pathways for Children is holding their annual benefit dinner and auction Thursday, September 28, at Broadway Church of Christ, at 2855 Broadway Street in Paducah. Impact One Initiative is holding its 5th Annual Prime Rib Brunch Sunday, October 1, at The Parlor in Paducah, located at 3033 Lone Oak Road. The Brunch starts at 10:00 a.m. and includes a buffet and drink, a silent auction with original African artwork and crafts, and stories from Zambia. Clarks River Baptist Church, on State Route 131 in Symsonia, is holding its 150th anniversary homecoming celebration Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24. Saturday’s activities will take place from 10:00 until 4:00 and include inflatables for kids, a petting zoo, car cruise-in, and more. On Sunday the homecoming service will begin at 11:00.
